Awards Kallie Nelson's Sportmanship Award One of Our Most Prestigious Awards Given each Year Kallie Nelson, daughter of Roger and Gela Nelson of Rosebud, AR,was a young cowgirl that competed in the 2001 & 2002 ATRA rodeo seasons. The cowgirl won the battle with cancer in November of 2003 by getting to meet the Lord face-to-face. In 2008, marks the first initial year to give this honorary award in memory of Sherman "Papaw" Ables.  He was called by the Lord in 2006 to help with his great kingdom above.  Mr. Ables was a strong, kind and gentle man who loved the sport of rodeo and the ATRA family.  He could be seen in the arena at each rodeo offering his help and support. Mr. Ables felt that a family that rodeo together stayed together.  He was quoted: "Parents know where their children are and they get the chance to meet new people, travel and establish friendships to last a lifetime." 2010 Recipients for the Sherman Ables Family Excellence Award   THE TATE MOORE FAMILY (photo coming soon)
